Pexels: How did you get started with photography?

Anni: When I was sixteen years old, a friend of mine lent me his Fujifilm digital camera. I fell in love with that camera and I bought it for myself. That's how I got interested in photography.

What camera gear do you use?

I'm using pretty basic gear: Panasonic Lumix GH4, Canon Powershot SX70HS, and my phone Samsung A71. I use many different filters, prisms, and lights when I'm taking photos.

What's your favorite type of photography to shoot?

I love creative photography in general because it offers unlimited possibilities to express myself.

What inspires your photography?

Music inspires me the most — especially experimental music, it fills my mind with colors and images.

My dreams have always been extremely detailed and vivid, and I find them very inspiring.

Poetry, science fiction stories, comics, and films are a great source of inspiration too.

Tell us about your favorite photo on your Pexels profile.

I often like to explore the idea of a shattered beauty. We are all broken, that's how the light gets in.

Who are some other photographers or artists who inspire your work?

I love the photography of Neil Krug, Spencer Tunick, Erwin Blumenfeld, and Ansel Adams.

Some other artists who inspire me are H. R. Giger, Salvador Dali, Zao Wou-Ki, and David Lynch.
